Yuccas are really tough plants. Hard to dig up roots, though. Even with a few roots and braced well until new roots form, transplant should go fine. They need full sun and excellent drainage. Water the transplant deeply once a week or so for first few weeks, then it will do fine on its own.

Actually, you could just cut the stem at ground level and stick it in new location. It will root and do just fine. Old roots by driveway will put up new shoot or multiple shoots...repeat the "cut at groundlevel & stick elsewhere" routine. Or give cuttings away.
