Pecan Trees

Can anyone recommend a source to order pecan trees from? I have been unable to find one locally and the only one I find online is Ty Ty nursery and I hear horror stories about them. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you find anyone, let me know. I wasted my money on TY TY once and never will again. The trees they sent me looked like culls and had a poor survival rate. I guess they send the good trees to the commercial guys who order by the hundreds.

I saved a page from my 'Virginia Gardener' magazine that had an ad for pecan trees. There was no vendor name, just an 800 number on a color 1/2 page ad. I found ty ty, and it's their number.

I guess they don't want their name on their ads!

Here's an article with info that may be helpful to you folks wanting to grow Southern pecan varieties, and it lists several good sources.

Beware of TyTy - and all their many incarnations - if it goes by Aaron's so-and-so Nursery or Patrick's so-and-so Nursery, you can be assured it's TyTy, but they also masquerade under other names, like Pecan Tree Nursery, etc.

Here is a link that might be useful: Disease-resistant pecans for home plantings

Womack nursery in De Leon, Texas sells pecan trees and you will get the variety you order . Phone number is 254-893-6497
They have a web site but do not take orders on the web, call for a catalog.

The best pecan trees I ever bought was from Bass pecan tree nursery in lumberton miss in 1988 I pick up 1000 trees and in 2005 pick up 120 trees. This ideal location grow trees buds are all ways twice size of other locations so next spring growth be big and long 3 foot are longer on first flush growth. And at buds you have primary secondary and tertiary bud this help if you are training to central leader.
