| I just found this great site with all these bulbs and things you can get from China. Among the wonders are gentians of all varieties. All the gentian I know is "gentian violet." So is anyone in the South growing any kind of gentian? I'm hoping to be enabled but I'd hate to watch something that pretty just fry and die. |

| You must be referring to Kaichen Nursery/Chen Yi. I have never ordered Gentians from her, but have purchased many other bulbs and plants. Our native Gentians require a moist site and do not transplant easily. Have tried several species and they are a short lived perennial for me, even in my shade bog. I may try them from directly sown seed and see if I have better luck. |
