Be careful around the Nerium oleander.
It is one of the most toxic plants in the world!
All parts of the plant have the toxins, so be sure to wash hands thoroughly if you touch the flowers or leaves.
Probably would have to ingest a significant quantity of the plant, for it to be fatal, but doesn't require much to cause nausea, stomach cramps, diarrhea and rapid heartbeat.
Enjoy, but don't touch!

According to the University of Florida :

"All parts of the plant are poisonous so care must be taken when locating Oleander near areas frequented by small children; burning of the trimmings will produce toxic fumes. Even chewing once or twice on a leaf or twig can send a person to the hospital."

OK, people need to chill out about oleanders. Yes, they're toxic, but unless you have a hungry cow in the yard or your kids are alwaysa gravitating to gnawing on shrub leaves in your backyard...

if all the "chicken littles" in the gardening world really stepped back, I think they'd stop getting close to angel trumpets, daffodils, calla lilies, dumbcanes, etc. too.
