Transplant , prune or do nothing (Raleigh-ish, NC)

I bought three August Beauty Gardenias. They are on the north side of the house but one gets a fair amount if hot afternoon sun. The one in the afternoon sun is still green, the other two not so much. I shook the bush that received morning only sun and it had whiteflies and sooty mold. I gave it systemic treatment a few weeks ago. It is pretty darn stressed, as is the other that is only getting a a little sun. Should I prune then down severely and if so, how far. I will sacrifice next years blossoms if it saves the bush. I could move the two stressed plants to the east side of the house. They would get sun all morning and even some sun at midday. The hydrangea loves it there as long as I keep it watered. I could also plant then in full sun or on the west side where they could be brutalized by the harsh afternoon sun to its black heart's content. Or... I could do nothing. Or I am open to other ideas. I am leery of transplanting it when it's already so stressed. Thank you in advance.
