Old Maid's Tears Plant

I recently got a plant from my mother that she always called Old Maid's Tears. This is the only thing I ever heard it called, except a rude variation on Old Maid's Tears by my great-grandmother. It's about 4" tall, with dark green leaves with purple undersides. The leaves are opposite, pointed, with jagged edges and fuzzy surfaces. The veins in the leaves are opposite, as well. The purple trumpet flowers are about 2" long, hang downward and have 5 petals forming the flare on the trumpet. The flowers have no fragrance. It requires full sun and plenty of water, and must be brought in during the winter, when it dies back completely. Can anyone tell me the scientific name of this plant? Thanks.
