mondo grass and pre-emergent

Hi all. I have just spent a painful week planting mondo grass on the steep slope all along my sidewalk. I would like to use a preemegent to prevent weeds and maple seedlings, but I am not sure if it would be safe for the newly transplanted mondo. Miracle Grow brand says its OK for liriope, but doesn't mention mondo. Should I wait a month to let the roots get settled and growing? Anyone have any experince with this?

You could use corn gluten meal as the pre-emergent. That won't hurt them.
