I see that no one has tackled this question to date. The problem is that yellow leaves is a symptom for several problems. In this case, it could be lower humidity in a heated house, lower light levels, exposure to a bit of cold before you took it in, a single incident of the potting soil drying out, too much water or a combination of all of the above. If the stems are still healthy and you take good care of it, the plant should leaf back out. It may even recover from dying back to the ground. In north Florida, bush allamanda dies back to the ground in the winter cold and recovers in spring.

I had mine planted in the ground and it had been beautiful all summer.After reading your post,I dug it up and potted it.Now ,it looks dead.I am hoping it is just in shock.I hope I did the right thing but feel terrible if I have killed this beautiful plant.

Last year, I planted bush allamandas in two places (home and work) about 15 miles apart, both near the border of zone 8 and 9. The temperature difference is only a degree or two on the coldest winter nights. Last year, the winter low was 24 F at the northern location and 25 at the southern location. The southern plants recovered beautifully in spring and bloomed by mid-summer. The northern plants recovered very late and did not grow enough to flower this year. Gardeners have proven me wrong before but I don't think this plant will be reliable in zone 7.

serenoa,Now that I have it in a big pot,should I bring it in the house or let it go dormant and keep it in my carport?I bought this one near the Fl. border and should have known better to plant it in the ground.It is absolutely beautiful.I did get alot of seeds off it and hope to have alot of these plants.
