RE: confederate rose

I wanted to say something about confederate rose seed. It is my understanding that usually seed grown confederate roses are sometimes single, and at the very least not exactly like there parents. The easiest way to get a confederate rose is to take cuttings from a plant you admire or buy a potted plant at a local nursery. The box stores will not have them. They root real easy in water or soil. Nothing wrong with growing them from seed I just wanted to make you aware they will be different.

Just a note to say that my daughter gave me 3 confederate roses. One is a single bloom and 2 that are the double blooms. They are really tempermental like the sun and water. These were bought from a nursery in Clanton,AL who specilizes in antique southern plants. If interested I will check with her regarding the name of the nursery.
