yellow blooms

I have a customer who saw several homes around ashville nc that had groupings of a yellow blooming plant.
she described it as similar to russian sage but yellow.
I have no idea what she saw but she says she was there in may if that helps
any help would be greatly appreciated |

| I'd guess, from your description, that she is seeing Solidago (Goldenrod), a favorite and much loved fall perennial. There are several wonderful cultivars. |
