Can I plant crinum in November?

I purchased two great looking Crinum Asiaticum in an online auction. The bulbs are softball size and they have about 2 feet of growth left on them after being cut back for shipping. They were freshly dug before being shipped to me. The root system appears to be almost completely intact. Now what do I do with them? I live in Zone 8b just North of Houston. Do I plant them in the ground (raised bed, well drained), put them in 5 gal pots for now, or pack then in peat moss and wait till Spring to put them in the ground?

Can you believe that I have a goofy crinum lily blooming now? Well, what is left of it. The snails devoured it as soon as the buds appeared. Don't know what its problem is. Has been in the ground at least 6-7 years and never done this before.

Crinum can be planted anytime the ground is not frozen, and it has a long shelf life if you want to store them. Plant them just below the surface in good garden soil. I just moved some about two weeks ago, this will allow them to start growing roots prior to next spring.
