That rose is a very good climber on its own roots. A friend has one that is up about a 10 ft pole with a wagon wheel on top. It goes up the pole and then comes back down to nose level. I would see no need to be grafted.

I'm going to start cuttings and replace the the two that were on climbing stock with own root plants. I moved from Colorado to Texas just so I could garden 24/7. After all those early and late frosts and hail storms in the mountains, South Texas is wonderful. Just have to learn how to garden in zone 9
