Orlando Tomato growing questions, please assist

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Orlando, FL from Philadelphia and was wondering if someone could assist me with a couple of questions. They are as follows:

When is the best time to begin planting tomatoes? Is there one or two growing seasons here?

What are the best types of tomatoes to grow in Orlando, both Hybrid and Heirloom? I will be planting in beds with high quality bagged soil.

Any advice would be appreciated.

There is a Florida Forum. I am sure that if you don't get your answer here, someone there will be able to help you. I think there is one forum that is devoted entirely to tomatoes.

Tomatoes are mostly a Sept-June growing season. Too hot in the summer. Start seeds in Sept for harvesting now. Mine are doing great here in Miami. Heirlooms and regulars do just fine! :) Come join us in the Florida forum! :)
