outhouse flower

I am looking for information on a fragrant white flower called an outhouse flower. It has small double white flowers and long strap-like leaves. It probably is a bulb or tuber but I am not sure.

My sister-in-law made a flower arrangement using the flowers and leaves. She said that someone told her it was called outhouse flower. She is supposed to bring me some of the plants. Even though we have had several nights in the twenties, they are still blooming so I think they would be a great addition to my wildflower garden.

I wonder if it could be a butterfly ginger. There are several. Here's a picture of one.

Thanks for the suggestion but it isn't a butterfly ginger. I have several of those. The flower is smaller and the leaves are narrower than the butterfly ginger.

That's the frustration of common names, isn't it? I found two references to "outhouse flower"...one is a rudbeckia and the other is a hollyhock...but it doesn't sound like either of those is what you're hoping for. I'd be curious to know what you find out.
