hi, I came up with a plan formy SFG and would like to know what you think of it. does it sound good to you? Are my harvest hopes realistic? any problems I havn't thought of? Is this going to be nearly enough for 5 people? (I'm not epecting it to meet all our vegtable needs just give enough produce for me my two brothers + mom and dad to at least have a lot of each crop i'm growing)

Ok so here'sthe plan, I have 1 4x4 box and 3 3x3 boxes made from crabapple and forsithia branches woven together. I don't really have room for anymore boxes. The boxes are exposed from the south and west and get sun from 10:00 am ~3:30 PM ( the sunniest part of my yard. on the north and east sides of the garden there are 60 ft pine trees. I am planning on having some kind of trellis at the back of each boxwhich would give me 13 sqft of trellis space. ok so here's the plan for the crops.

Peas spring 3/1/09-summer crop either 5/15/09 or 6/1/09 13 sqs 3 plants per sq

lettuce spring 3/15/09-5/15/09 12 sqs 4 plants each fall 9/1/09-11/15/09 4 sq

Spinach spring 3/15/09 -5/15/09 10 sq 6 plants each

broccoli 4/5/09-7/1/09 4 sq 1 plant each

tomatos summer-fall 5/15/09-10/30/09 10 sq 1 plant each

peppers 5/15/09-10/30/09 16 sq 1 plant each

cucumber 6/1/09-10/30/09 4 sq 2 plants each

watermelon 6/1/09-10/30/09 2-3 sq 1 plant total (broccoli will be in one sq till 7/1/09)

bush bean 4 sq 9 plants each 5/15/09- 8/1/09

bush bean 3 sq 9 plants each 7/1/09-10/30/09

Harvest
