The best deer repellent would of course be a dog, but fencing will work well, too. One thing that I know for certain, is that a deer will not enter a confined space, in fear of getting trapped. I fenced in my 4ft x 25 ft bed with wire mesh, and haven't had any problems, because it would be rather difficult for the deer to jump the fence, then land in such a narrow space. Hope this helps.

A friend of mine installed this same type of fencing around her 5 acres and has not had any deer on her property.
