THANK YOU! Thanks to all of you, Carolyn, John, Liisa, Belleville rose! Mr. H took me out to lunch today....just getting this far in life is reason to celebrate ;-) I'm officially and OLD LADY now, so everybody watch out. I've earned the right to be stubborn and cantankerous!

I was stubborn and cantankerous in my 20s and 30s, what am I supposed to do now? There has to be something for me to look forward to, how about obnoxious?

Oooh, ooh, make a decision by pretending to be coerced into it, and then just when everyone has made their plans around your decision, say it was a stupid decision and you can't imagine who would come up with such a stupid plan and then make another plan which will completely irritate and inconvenience everyone. The joy of it is, no one will ever dare to tell you that you're wrong!!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANNY!!!

Happy Birthday Granny! (Ok, so I'm a few hours late, but that still counts, right?)

    Thank you, soonergrandmom.

Greenbean, I'll still be 70 years old for another 364 days, so a few hours late is no problem at all! Thank you for the birthday greeting.

70, my tuchus (that's your rear end for you yiddishly challenged). That's not old! You're not infirm; you get more of a workout than most of the kids I see each day. Take a lesson from my grandmother who broke her arm at 83.

Jumping rope (double dutch) with her great grandchildren.

Round about that time she called me and asked if she should get her boyfriend a beeper so she could keep track of him. I jokingly told her to just tattoo her name on his chest. She replied, "Honey, if they've gotten to his chest, it's too late!" She's 91 and still sharper than I am.

You're still a spring chicken, Granny. Go get some used trellis and jump some rope!!!

LOL, Ribbit. You always make my days more cheerful!

Both of my grandmothers lived well into their nineties. Both of my grandfathers passed away in their seventies. Let's hope I take after the grandmas ;-)

Is this where I tell you my dad was convinced he wouldn't live to 60 and when he did, I planted a walkie-talkie in the potted plant at his birthday party and broadcasted:

Joe....This is God....I'm on my way to fetch you, however I'm stuck in rush-hour traffic. I'll be there soon. Wan't me to pick up a coffee on the way?" (note doom and destruction voice)

He's pushing 70 and still says if God doesn't bring him his coffee, he's not coming.

Thank you, Connie. Any time I can get Mr. H out of the house for an entire day is a good day. Especially during football season! I told him he was a cheapskate, though. I got buffet lunch at the Indian casino, and I really think I deserved lobster ;-)

Happy Birthday, going out together is good. So what do you get for your Birthday? My husband wants to get me manure just so he can tell his friends how happy I would be. :)

    Thanks, Flood. Nothing.

Carolyn, I actually had a free lobster dinner coming. In fact I had to turn down a $125 dinner gift card because we don't have a puppy sitter, and it required us to travel to Laughlin, NV and spend a night. But guess what? The puppies are full of much more fun and love than a lobster dinner :-) I didn't mind at all.
