Can I grow haricovert or french style beans?

Hey all... I am in Sacramento, started my first SFG last year... big success on beans carrots and radish, not so much on melon or cukes... new topic on that later on...

my beans were tough and stringy, so I will harvest earlier this year.... but I wanted to see if there was any of the long haricovert type beans I could grow where I am?

If so what are they and where can I get seed? if not... can anyone suggest a stringless, less tringy, and or less tough shelled bean for my area? thanks!
