Carolyn, the wild rabbits might get a meal off of it before I do. But I'm enlarging it today, and hoping the poultry wire continues to keep them out....they were really on the warpath last night :-(

I have to do the same thing with a few of my beds. They are enclosed with cyclone fence for the deer, but the rabbits can get through that.

I hate poultry wire. There just isn't any way one can make it look good, especially when you're at the end of a roll like I am. I just finished planting the second 3'x3' bed and there was just barely enough left to go around it. If I decide to do this Arizona gardening next winter, I'm going to have to find a better looking fence.

BTW, there were NO bunny tracks this morning. Let's hope they've already lost interest. the residents of the RV park across the street do keep them pretty well fed.

Another solution for next year- Make a stand for your SFG. Drill a few holes in a piece of plywood (1/2 in thick or thicker)and attach it to the bottom of your bed. You can then make a stand for it (some use sawhorses...I prefer to make a 4 legged stand as I'm too klutzy not to knock the sawhorses out from under the bed :-)). You can use 2x4's or if you prefer you can use galvanized pipe and a floor flange for each corner to make really sturdy legs. That way it's too tall for the rabbits (and as a bonus you won't have to bend over to harvest).

corriinpdx, I have to fight Mr. H for two little boxes...he'd have fits if I put them on stilts! He thinks I'm trying to turn the entire world into a vegetable garden. Well, at least our back yard up north. He can't understand how I can want a garden down here at all! He sure does like to eat what I grow, though.
