COOL-SEASON CROPSCool-Season Vegetables: How to Grow Broccoli
Packed with vitamins, broccoli is a nutritional powerhouse and is easy to grow in a fall or spring garden
Full StoryI am just trying to figure out how to space rapini (broccoli rabe). My seed packet says 15" but other sources seem to say 4-6". And how much do you need for one person? Mine last year didn't get very tall - I planted 4 to a sq. I only harvested enough for a couple of (scanty) meals, and they didn't really produce additional shoots like the package said. On a search, someone in '08 planted 9 to a sq. but never followed up on production. Another question - if you checkerboard do you plant early crops like lettuce so you don't waste space. I'm pretty limited in my beds. Sorry, I couldn't get this message to take under large crops smothering small ones.
