Just Got Some of My Mel's Mix

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I'm really excited about this!

I live in Utah, and there is a local store that sells Mel's Mix - the official SFG stuff, pre-mixed and packaged in 2 cu. ft. bags. So I went there this morning to find out when they will be getting their spring shipment, and they said they had some left over from last year that they would be willing to sell to me for *half price*! So between the half price bags, and some they sold to me for 75% off because they had a small tear in the bag, I got 40 cubic feet of Mel's Mix for $97.06. I'm so excited about this! It's making my possibly cedar / redwood / composite boxes that we'll be making when the snow melts a lot more do-able.

What a great score!! I would love to be able to purchase pre-made Mel's Mix in the store, and you got it at half price and lower! Lucky you!

i am jealous! I couldn't get that much peat for that price here!!!

3.2 cu ft goes for about $9.50 here.

Where is this place that sells Mel's Mix? I'm in Utah as well, and wondering how much of a pain it will be to mix the stuff myself. If I could just buy it ready-made, it might be worth it!

I got it at IFA (Intermountain Farmer's Association). I bought out the Salt Lake, and Draper stores. I also got some from the Riverton store, and I know that as of two weeks ago, they still had some. I would call around to the other stores and see if they still have some from last year. They will sell you last year's bags for $5.00. If they are out of last year's, I know they will shortly be getting their shipment of new Mel's Mix for this year. Those bags will be around $10 for 2 cubic feet. I priced everything out, and figured that even at $10, it was about the same price as making my own mix, but without the effort of having to mix it myself. To me, that's totally worth it! Good luck!
