Tomato Trellis Idea

This is new to me, so wondered if y'all could use the idea, as well.

The March/April issue of Texas Gardener has an article on tomatoes, written by Skip Richter. He uses a slanted trellis system for his tomatoes. I scanned the pic, click the thumbnail. He uses a 4 ft. cattle panel, and places the bottom of the panel 1 1/2 ft. away from the posts. I'm thinking it would work quite well with tomato SWCs. I think I'm going to try it and see if it works.

He says he trains the tomatoes through it just like you would in vertical growing, but it has the added advantage of the foliage shading the fruit. This is a good thing for those of us who garden in hot areas.
