Succession planting questions.

I've been trying to figure out how, exactly, succession planting works when you don't live somewhere with an extremely long growing season. Specifically, I'd love to plant some sugar snap peas - but my space is very limited. I can put them in in the next week or so, but even then, from what I've read about how long they take to mature, I'll be picking peas until about June. I would like to grow them using the same trellis I'll put the pole beans on, but I'll also want to plant the pole beans by mid-May at the latest so the peas won't be done.

Likewise, if I put them where I'd put tomatoes, or peppers or anything really - because all my veggies will be planted in May - June 1 at the VERY latest, whereas anything early - from peas to lettuce and spinach, will still be producing then.

The ONLY vegetable I can think of that would mature early enough if planted in March/April to be done by mid-May is radishes! How on earth does anyone do this?
