SFG Plan. Need suggestions

Posted by brookhaven Zone 5 (My Page) on

Hi, I am new to SFG and gardening in general and need some input on my garden plan. I am open to suggestions. I am in zone 5 and need to get some seeds started outside within the next 2 weeks

Points of interest:
I will have trellises along the north side of the north boxes (as indicated by dashed lines)
The Roma boxes are actually planters that are about 18"x18"
I am growing Black Beauty Zucchini and am not confident in my ability to trellis it. Hence the 9x9 block as well as the trellis experiment.
I am still working out the succession planting but I hope this is somewhat close

From Brookhaven Gardens

Thanks for your input!

If you want to, I think you can plant more per square of your carrots, scallions, & radishes. I also wonder if it will be difficult to pick your beans between the squash & cucumber. I think I'd swap the position of the beans & butternut squash.

My Black Beauty Zucchini was a bush type. Last year, I somehow missed that fact and didn't really plan accordingly...
