Square Foot Gardening

I am getting ready to plant my first square foot garden. I hope this question hasn't been asked. (I did do a search but wasn't sure which search terms...) Anyway, would I be better off planting all my broccoli and cabbage together in one 4x4 bed and keeping them covered or would it be smarter to plant them randomly throughout the beds (there will be four)? I'm not sure I want to cover all of them since this is our first go and I want to keep it simple.

Any advice?

I plant mine all in one bed and keep covered with tulle to keep out the moths laying eggs.

I also found it easier to grow them in a group so they could be easily covered with light insect barrier against the cabbage moth and for cabbages, also against flea beetles.
Growing them here and there got too hard to control the bugs.

I also plant mine together, Then mulch with grass clippings or pine needles which both are excellent compost for the garden.
