How long do cedar raised beds last?

I'm deciding what wood to use on new beds. If you have cedar beds, how long have they lasted for you?

I have 3 raised beds. They are all cedar. One with 2x12 and two with 1x12. All are 5+ years old and no rotting.

I'm no expert, but others will use fir and some will use redwood. It depends on the part of the country you are in as to what is available and what it costs.

I've also heard some people use tamarac, but I know nothing about it.

@brian6464 - can you share the thickness of the cedar boards in your beds? I'd like to buy a cedar garden bed kit and see one I like where the boards are 3/4" thick. I'd like my cedar beds to last a while (ideally 5-10 years). So Im wondering if I should invest in a bed with thicker boards: like 1"-1.25". Would love your input. Thanks in advance.
