Please help me place these squares: Cucs, Peppers, Basil, etc.

I have never grown any of these veggies nor do I know what the overall plants look like when they are mature.

In a regular 4x4 box with a trellis going up the north side I will have two different cucumbers. Of the four squares there on that row which are the best squares to put these two?

The rest of the squares are for 2 green bell peppers, 2 red bell peppers, 2 yellow bell peppers, 1 jalepeno pepper, 4 basils, 1 chives. I have a few empty squares still.

Any thoughts on the placement of those things? Should any go in the squares along side the cucumbers or should those be left empty?

Hi here is your garden the way I would plant it.

Just a note green and red bell peppers are the same. Green bells are not fully ripe red bells.

That's great! I'm curious, are the cucumbers on the two left squares to shade the lettuce? How dense are cucumber vines?

Cucumber vines are very dense. I put them in the western side of your trellis for a couple reasons. One they are flatter against the trellis so the pepper will get more sun. Two they will shade the lettuce some. Three there nedds to be at least one square between cumbers and any other large plant as the cucumber will takeover.

Great. That's just the kind of info I needed.

Should I be training the cucumber at a diagonal in order to use more trellis space or is just straight up vertical sufficient?

You should just train them straight up. Eventually they will reach the top of the trellis, then try to train them horizntally or back down. I have a chicken wire trellis and have never hd to train my cucumbers they just climb right up without any help.
