We just put in our new and improved SFG. We want to grow cukes and tomatoes on a trellis, but have lots of rabbits, deer, gophers. How do you protect the trellised veggies? Our 18" cage is not high enough for that!

Make another cage to fit over just the trellis. I'm not sure how to protect it any other way. You might have to make a big ugly box :(

We opted for a fence of deer netting several feet away from trellises. For stakes we used rebar and conduit, just as we did on the trellises themselves. I guess we'll go for bird netting if that becomes a problem.
