I have never done pole beans in my SFG but would like to this year. 1 of my setups is 3 rows of squares X 5 columns of squares with my trellis set up between row 1 and 2 on the north side of the garden. I can't figure out how to space my pole bean plants so they are properly spaced but all find the trellis to climb up. Do I need to plant all of the seeds closer to the trellis so put fewer in a box than Mel's suggestion, do I plant close to the trellis only and use the outer edge of the box to plant something else? Any suggestions? Moving the trellis would be a little difficult but I could also put more support in a pole bean box if needed. I just can't picture it all in my head and want to so I plant my seeds properly.
