how much peat to use

so, I found a source for vermiculite, but it was very expensive and there were only 2 bags left. By my calculations, to make Mel's mix for my boxes I would need about 6 times that many bags and even if they had them there's no way I could afford it.

so, to finish filling my boxes, I have unlimited free compost, and plenty of peat. Since I'm using very very little vermiculite, should I also reduce the amount of peat that I use? Or still do equal amounts of peat and compost?

I would advise to still not use more than 1/3 peat and make up the difference in the compost. This is based on what I have read from others, and not from personal experiences. My bed is approx 25% peat.
