i live in a area that gets windy at times, like today, 20-25 miles per hour all day. when i put mels mix in my new boxes, will wind blow mix away? i know keeping it moist will help, but is it light enough to blow away when dry? do i need to build some sort of wind break for occasional windy days? thx

I live in South Central Kansas and the wind seldom stops blowing here especially in the spring. I used Mel's mix and don't seem to have a problem with it blowing away after I put it in the beds and we've recently had some 40-50 mph winds. Follow his directions about wetting it down as you add it to your beds. Mel's mix faired a lot better than my hoops.

It is very windy where I am as well and the mix has not blown away. But it does dry it out very quickly.
