First time gardener here from Ohio (45040)

Follow this link to see my square foot garden "garden without plants (without luck)"

http://picasaweb.google.com/muthuganesh.s

My indoor plants are not growing good.
My outdoor plants got killed by wind.

I know putting effort/time/money, having interest and learning/knowing things to do right doesn't guarantee any output.

I had already spend 500+ $$$ for this square foot garden and can't spend anymore.

Regards
Ganesh

Hmmm... I know you said you can't spend any more, but you might just have to buy some seedlings. Give that tomato plant more light and it should look better if you give it time. Also, you might want to wait until the average last frost date to plant (unless that has already happened).

Just my 2 cents.

For no question, you sure prompt several from the peanut gallery.

First off, don't be discouraged. Things don't turn out great at first for most folks. The SFG book doesn't answer every question.

Let's see, did your indoor plants die from lack of water, too much? got too leggy? Root bound? Were they under lights? Did you have a fan blowing on them to strengthtn their stems?

For the outdoor plants, is the wind so bad or the seedlings too weak? If it's bad wind, how do other local gardeners deal with it? Wind breaks? If it's weak seedlings, make sure the light setup is 2 inches above the seedlings and throw a fan on them a few hours a day.

Good luck and try again! Read my first blog posts last year. I spent more than you and was more clueless. Research is your friend.

Sure, Thanks.

My indoor plants got leggy without grow lights. I didn't had a fan indoor.

The wind was 11mph but I think the seedlings are weak. I haven't seen a garden in my community. My HOA doesn't permit us to have any kind of wind breaks.
