so sorry to hear/see you're having such a tough start to your growing.

You'll have to forgive me if I've mis-understood some of your terms, I'm coming from the other side of the pond :-)

From your video, it looks like you've got a good spread of stuff in the beds but personally I think it's too cold for a lot of those to be out in the open, regardless of what soil they're in - you might find that those ones out in the 'normal' soil have been sheltered by the fence or are somewhat hardier than the plants put into the soil you've ben provided.

on the watering side, it is quite easy to over water, I know I've done it - watered when it's been super hot an the plant still doesn't like it. what's happening there is that the roots become water logged and cant take in air so they get all crappy and die back.

you look to have a good couple of inches of board above your beds, if you can maybe get some clear plastic sheeting over the top or agricultural fleece in place late afternoon/early evening to retail the heat of the day - but make sure you take it off some 9-10 AM so you dont scorch them.

you might want to try sowing some other plants/veg which is a bit more tolorant of colder temperatures, salad leaves, etc. Easy to get going, not so picky about lower temps. Especially for SFG, I like to module sow so I'll plant 20 radishes and plan to transplant 16 of the best into the ground, at least at the beginnig of the year if I've not got cover, and hence retaining heat, on the beds.
