| Just got a pickup load of spent mushroom compost tonight. I'm planning on using it for my second SFG, which I need to get finished asap... I have stuff that is in pots that need to go in the ground. Whatever's left is getting spread on my lawn.
Does anyone have any experience with this in the SFG? I will probably have to go more towards half the contents of the bed being mushroom compost due to the supplies I have here at home now. I may be able to get some more peat tomorrow morning at the local grocery store, but I'm not sure if they have any left. From reading about it, it seems like I may have to amend it with a nitrogen fertilizer? |

| My SFG is 100% spent mushroom compost. Did a quick npk color test on it this year (2nd year using it) and everything seems adequate. I did add a bit of weak fertilizer to the soil anyways though. Anyway, my plants grow fine in it. The best part about it is how well it drains. |
