My method of watering so far accept two days out of the whole season was relying on rain, Tennessee flood rains, still raining about 2 to 3 times a week accept 2 weeks out of the season.

On the internet they say a 10x10 garden spot should get 1 inch of rain a week which is 73 gallons of water. Unbelievable! You can cut watering costs up to 80% by root watering and mulch. Maybe then its about 13 gallons, only a guess, don't remember the formula.

It is recommended you allow your soil to evaporate completely before you water again, it's healthier on the plant. You are not supposed to water a little every day.

You are doing it right, but not sure it 1 cup of water will grow what you are growing. It might encourage more flowers to water about 1 gallon per plant. Just a thought!

Way to go. I've been experimenting with that too. Steve Solomon's book turned me on to it. Seems to work pretty well but then that's what farmers did before cheap irrigation.
