Try searching your county or state agriculture office for a planting guide. They should have one for the whole year. I posted one for Louisiana.

The only planting guide I was able to find was for vegetables which I'm pretty familiar with. I was looking for other ideas that I might not have thought of to fill in some spaces.

Maybe this will give you some ideas ? I am assuming you are zone 6, but if not, then just change the zone in the URL.

Look for varieties of lettuce that can take the heat of summer. I came across this article recently, Heat Tolerant Lettuce Varieties

SkillinÂs Greenhouses, a local greenhouse to me here in Maine has suggested that now is the perfect time to plant more cole crops. Read more here.

Remember too that you can try to extend the season by using frost protection and hoop houses over your SFG.

Thank you both so much for the links. The vegetable calendar was much nicer than the one I had bookmarked and the heat tolerant lettuce varieties was just what I was looking for.

If I can get the boxes built soon I might even have time for peanuts too. Not much I can plant now though so I might not rush to build the boxes.

Anyone know if there's a calender like the one for vegetables that has more than just vegetables? I found something once but can't seem to find it again.
