I'm pretty new to gardening in general, though would like to dip my toe into it some. I decided on a square foot garden for a couple of reasons, but now that I know what I am building, I have to decide what to plant.

Being that its almost August what would be the best to grow? Also since this is a square foot garden, whats the best method of planting, or should I just get germinated vegetables?

I was thinking broccoli, cabbage, and peas. Am I too far out of season for those crops?
