I've pulled up the majority of my spring-planted cukes as they're getting the mildew typical of late summer. This is my first year using the nylon rope trellis as Mel describes in his book, however - and as I removed the plants, I noticed that the nylon was dark as well in spots. Is it necessary to treat the trellis with something (and if so, what) prior to planting my fall cukes in the same spot?
