Hey John - I understand where you're coming from. I think that it will work great for you. I would even go about 24 inches high, and make sure the "lattice" had holes in it large enough to stick your hand thru. I have a similar situation, because my 4 squash plants completely took over my enclosed garden (with wire mesh for fencing purposes). This actually contains the squash nicely, but i'm not able to get my large hands thru the 2"x3" openings. If I were able to- I would actually like the congested area very much, because I can easily make the squash plants turn up- once the vine has reached the outer edge of the fencing.

EG is right on it. You'll need to have something in place to "LIFT" them up temporarily. You could go with the trellis or the "green nylon fencing" (Home Depot/Lowes) to wrap around them and secure with 4 (1x2) post in each corner (per box). It comes in 2 foot widths plus.

i did read a little of your journal,(tonight again, always learn more the second time LOL) which is cool, i had read it befor :') i took my pieces that i pruned from my tomatoe plants and just stuck them in the ground and they just rooted out, and i now have more tomato plants, that have flowers and some have even more fruits on them. LOL i'm soooo loving this experimenting with the vege's!! LOL once the little gh gets up and its cooler, the kids and i are gonna have wayyyyy to much fun with stuff like that!! LOL ~Medo
