Mel says to leave at least 3 feet if you want to use a wheelbarrow. I left 3 feet between mine and I can wheel a barrow and my hubby can mow between them, too.

I have two between mine. No room for what you need, but room enough for me to walk through and work.

I have thirty-two inches between mine, and the corn from one box is rubbing shoulders with the broccoli in the next box. I would say go with at least three feet.

I mulched between my boxes with wood chips and I love it. I can walk out right after a rain storm and harvest without getting any mud on my shoes!

I planning a redo on my garden space. I'm leaving 2' between most beds, but I am leaving a 3' path through the center so that I can get a wheel barrel in. The most important thing is that it is comfortable to you. My beds are only 3' wide because 4' is a bit of a stretch for me and 3' is much more comfortable.

I always wish I had more. I have 2 feet in my current setup, and certain bushy plants do spill over into the aisle too much. If you have plenty of overall space, just go for 4 feet and be done with it. If you feel bad about the waste of space, put some containers in the wide aisle.
