| I'm posting this here, since this is taking place IN my SFG beds, not to be perverted in any way, but I was fascinated by this activity, never really have seen lady bugs, getting busy ;)
Hope this link works

| I dont think it worked, anyone know how to post a video link from photobucket? |
|
| It worked! You just copy/paste the URL and wait a few seconds. WOO HOO! Garden porn! ;) I learned something fascinating from one of my favorite TV gardening gurus (Paul James, The Gardener Guy on HGTV). Aphids, the meal of choice for lady beetles, can reproduce at an astoundingly faster rate than lady beetles. While (as you witnessed) the beetles have to make babies the old fashioned way, female aphids can be pregnant with female aphids that are *already pregnant.* Crazy, huh? But it works out: this guarantees a daily food supply for the lady beetles, who eat more aphids than they themselves reproduce of their own young. (make sense? he explains MUCH better than I, which is one of the many reasons why he's on TV and I am not.) The more I learn, the more I find that NATURE KICKS @$$!! :) |

| The WIND was blowing, NOT ME breathing heavy!!! ha ha. The wind was really whipping that okra around too, but that boy stayed at it. In fact long enough for me to go inside retreive my camera and find them again. Good to know that the daddy lady bug tries to make the experience interesting for his bride. Not just a wham bam thank you maam. I was thinking of piping in music to go along with it...I was thinking "Do the Jitter Bug" would have been funny....hee hee |
