seedlings question

I started some lettuces indoors for a fall planting, in case the ones I started outside didn't germinate in the heat. They have (mostly) but I've got these seedlings (started in straight vermiculite as Mel does it) but I don't know what to do next, I sent my book back to the library. Can I set them straight out into their squares, and give them some shade for a few days, or do I need to transplant them into pony packs with seedling mix for a little while first? I've started seeds indoors, but never in straight vermiculite, and never for fall plantings.

The seedlings are just starting to get their first true leaves, so I know what ever I do must be done soon!
