Dude, I love how you think. I like to be creative with solutions, but I get a little crazy and sometimes they don't work. But a big part of the fun is just trying things!

I might try your watering method with an emitter because I'm going almost all container gardening for my fall crop.

Another thought on securing cinder block raised beds is to secure with rebar, either inside the holes closest to the inside or outside of the garden. I haven't tested this but I don't see why it wouldn't work, perhaps with the DAP for extra security. I will probably go with cinder blocks when I'm ready to build a real SFG. :)

Another thing that holds cinder blocks together is Liquid Nails Landscape Block Adhesive.

Thank you for the photo, duhast. That's exactly what I need for my whiskey barrels next year. I'm cool with what goes on up to and including the T, but I have not seen, nor do I know what the green line is called. That's my missing link!

It's sold in rolls and should be right with the regular microtubing. I think it's called "soaker hose". I'e seen it 2 ways, with emitters (they're little somethings actually inside the hose and bulge a little bit) every 6 or 12 inches.

The hose by Digg is black w/12", and the hose by Toro is black w/blue line and is 12".

Correcting mistake.....

The Digg hose is on 12" spacing, and the Toro hose (w/blue line) is on 6" spacing.

Personally, I've never used anything other than good old mortar (which is alot of work), but I might just have to try some of these alternatives in the future.
