I have to agree on the rock mulch - we have the jagged type like you have - it's a nightmare to try to use a wheelbarrow, pretty much impossible really. The landscape fabric, that's a joke. Even the thick stuff is ineffective after a couple of years. A very thin layer of dust/dirt develops between the rocks and the fabric - plenty for seeds to germinate, and once they do that, they push through the fabric from the top. I had some carrots go to seed, and had CARROTS growing in the paths. The fabric meant I couldn't pull them effectively. Sigh...

I'm considering removing my rock mulch too - something I'm not looking forward to. I may put an ad in FreeCycle - I have done that with large plants I don't want in the landscape - I offer and if they want they dig it out and take it away. I wonder if the same would work for rock mulch? Free rocks if you scoop it up and haul it away.... :)
