this was my first summer with a SFG raised bed, i planted watermelons and cantalupes. I picked my first fruits a couple of weeks a go and they were mussy in the inside, not as solid as i have bought those fruits at the market.

Yesterday i had another watermelon and it was more solid but it has no taste.

My bed is under a shade since the summers in arizona are pretty hot, even some of the cantalupe leaves that get more direct sun were not as green, more yellow. Water them twice a day during the hot part of the summer.

why is my fruit not like the store bought?
