After a lackluster 1st year performance from my backyard garden this summer, I decided to expand to the front yard, AND switch over to a SFG. Two of the beds in the back have been marked out, and one has been planted with about 80% of the seeds planted 4 days ago having germinated.

I had 3cu yards of soil delivered today (not Mel's mix, but 1/2 of some proprietary nursery mix, and 1/2 finished compost) and am in the process of filling up the beds. My 8x4 has been filled, and now I just have three 4x4's to go.

In the coming months, I hope to get a variety of fall/winter crops planted and thriving, enough to feed my family of two, and extended family of 4, but we'll see how that all goes with the squirrels seemingly constantly in attack mode.

I should have pictures of the progress by the end of today, and hopefully there will be some appreciable progress made! Lol. Ahhhh! I've been waiting for this day for about a month and a half, and I'm so excited!
