I've got two 2x4 beds of strawberries I planted this spring. I made them as mobile boxes, and now I'm debating how to winter them over. Should I just leave them out as is, mulch them in place, store them under the porch, or take them inside?

I'm what's called a "zone 5a" IE, cold as a zone 5, but with unreliable snow cover.

I would definitely mulch them with straw or pine needles (something that won't mat down and harden) and leave it on until new growth shows in the spring. Granny
