Search members tradelist has been down for a month. Are there any plans to make this function operable again?

Hi Jeanne,

Searching members trade lists works for me.
I just tried it by following the member Page link at the bottom of the pages from
Suggestions-(forums.gardenweb)
Bulbs (forums2.gardenweb)
Money Saving Tips (ths.gardenweb)

Is the link you are using possibly one you had saved to your favs or something maybe and it is obsolete?

How exactly did you get that link and message? What Forum? Where at on the forum? Maybe it is just a different way to get to the search than the way I go. Maybe it is just from one, or a few forums.

I have the actual search members list saved to a GW misc folder and usually access it from there.

I just went to your member page, and noticed the link Send me an email is not in its usual place. In fact, I didn't notice it at first where it is placed on your page.

I clicked on it, and it took me to to some non GW email form. AND, I could see your addy.

My guess is that you have used the dropdown box and set it to Show my email addy to MEMBERS but have not checked the box to receive email via the form here.

Might you want to check that...and maybe change that?

Well crud...I just tried to email you via that strange form. I think it might be tied into Outlook Express or something. I have it, but don't have it set up, and it tries to get me to set it up....which I'm not going to do.

Houzz: Link issue. Please fix!

Right now, when you post a link with an underscore or dash in it, the link will be cut off at that point. As an example, here's one I just tried to post. http://manuals.frigidaire.com/ProdInfo_PDF/Springfield/5995384533.pdf There is a workaround, which is to have the text of the link be different than the URL, like so: Parts List But if you want to copy and paste into the body of the post, or you want the full URL to be displayed, you're out of luck.

"Why should we be forced to use Houzz instead of Gardenweb?" I suspect the techs would like to not have to make double changes. Once to Houzz, then again to Gardenweb. Plus fix errors that unexpectedly crop up in Gardenweb when they make a change in Houzz. If they both used the exact same code, changes would be easier and go more smoothly. (They could keep the Gardenweb(dot)com domain alive. Just change Gardenweb code to match Houzz code exactly. (Or as much as possible)) An example of one of many minor differences: On Houzz comments(within the <p> tag) are wrapped in a "div" with a "class" of "message-body new-message-body text-l" On Gardenweb that same paragraph is wrapped in a div with a class of "commentBodyText". Properties such a font type and size are applied to that comment though files called "Style Sheets". So to change the font type or size on both Houzz and Gardenweb, a tech may have to edit two different style sheets. I'm not a tech though. I'm just trying to understand why they, the techs, might like to consolidate. To save themselves a bit of work? Edit: Just to see if I still can. Edit2: Above edit was a couple days ago and was done using houzz url. Today I can still edit using houzz url but still can not edit using gardenweb url.

Hi Salonva, thank you! This is my first ever layout I’m planning, so I’m super excited for new thoughts & ideas. Rug dimensions: 5.3’ x 7.3’ Sofa length would be around 6’ to leave at least 6 in. on each side. I might forget the table and just do 2 boho poufs instead.

You pegged it Sue, I had bookmarked an old address which they must have changed in the recent server move. I've bookmarked the new address, lol! Thanks!

I set up the links on my member and trade page for the yahoo email because my rr email isn't working since I got the new computer, but I don't want to switch it on GW because I hope to get it up and running again. Considering the way GWs email system works, it's about 6 of one and a half dozen of the other.

Good to hear that was all it was with the search. I think I may have been Nancy Drew in a former life...reckon?

I'm wondering if the GW email might be reliable now. I haven't really put it to the test, but may try it over at the test forum.

Let's cross our fingers that the recent upgrades maybe fixed it also....or I'm gonna maybe be the first to (complain) report it.
