When someone posts a URL at the end of their post using the "Optional Link URL", why can I no longer open it in a new tab?
I use Firefox browser and I cannot right click for that option as I used to do.
I too use FF and Right Click on a link and then choose to have it open in a New Tab. What I have noticed in the past day or two is that when I click on a link and choose to open it in a New Tab, that the new tab opens Just to the right of the existing tab I am on, as opposed to it opening over to the very far right as it used to. Make any sense? I believe it has something to do with FF and not with GW. I just went to another site and clicked on a link and chose to have it open in a new tab, and it opened to the very right of the tab I had open. I recently updated FF and think it started happening after that...not positive though.

The problem I have involves the newer "gray box" labeled Here that comes right after the name of the link in the completed post, and replaced the Here is a link that might be useful:.

I don't frequent GW so much anymore so I can't say how long this had been going on, but I see now that the webmaster may have already changed it back to the original form, as your previous Computer Forum link does not show a gray box for me, and uses the original new tab friendly link.

I cleared my cache and rechecked the the thread where the screen capture below originated. The gray Here boxes are still there but the latest post has the original URL posting form that is new tab friendly. So It can't be a browser anomaly. Also therefore, I think the problem must have been removed sometime between March 8 and March 14.

I'm guessing that the code used by the other member 'might' be what the problem is that their links can't be Right Clicked and then Opened in a New Tab.

I'll go ask on the Computer Help Forum and see if anyone might have a clue there as to why those links behave strangely.

Looking at the code it seems the link is coded as a form button instead of a hyperlink. That's why there's no right click or no new tab/window.

If you look at your thread you will see it is just the one member (chowdhry) that is posting links that won't open the 'usual way in a New Tab.

I hadn't even given it a thought that the button was always from the same user, or even that someone would do such a thing. Aah Hah! Mystery solved, and I am a little red in the face, accusing GW of doing this. My apologies.
