I was just wondering if the powers tht be look at this forum and do they have any answers or questions?

I asked back on Aug 23 Does anyone specifically recall the last time any suggestion here on the suggestion forum was actually implemented? and got no response.

Rather than posting here, try sending an email directly to GW via the "contact us" page. The link is at the bottom of the home page.

hehe campanula, I peeked into the Rose forum and learned that I am supposed to be horribly offended by you hijacking my funki fungi thread with an unrelated malva talk (I think it was malva at least). Now I am all offended and demand cookies. (just messing with ya) Now while I am waiting for my cookies, here are two pics of malvas/lavateras we were talking about (did not want to make a new thread about it, and since PM is weird on GW, hope you see them here) Malva oregana - at least it was sold as one to me, color is more or less the pink of ordinary malva, but darker, also bloom form is more round. Got to 50 cm for me, but I suspect that it normally is much higher, ground is crap where it is growing atm. My yellow-ish lavatera - can't find the blinking label, but it grows about 2 meters straight up, pretty much like alcea in habbit, also dies to the ground and comes back from the root - everything else is pretty much lavatera-ish in appearance and behavior. I can vaguely remember that when I checked it online after I bought it, she was classified as tad tender for our climate and originating from warmer climates, either Mediterranean, either Southern US.

cable ties tie wraps Police use the kind that you pull in one direction and they lock in place. They are plastic ties. They have teeth on them to lock. Cable ties. Unless you want to "organize" an unruly prisoner, I don't know what you would use them for to organize something.

Thanks for that link - I've looked at it over and over (found it when searching myself) and Maddie copied from it, I believe. I realized I was confused because part way down the list, it switches to items allowed from other countries (not the US) and says milk is prohibited: Dairy products cheese: up to 20 kilograms per person Please note that quantities in excess of $20.00 may be subject to high rates of duty. The CBSA is responsible for determining customs and duties for items coming into Canada. These items are not allowed milk milk products (whey, cream, skim milk, butter oil, and so on) in these forms: dried, frozen, reconstituted, or fresh I didn't notice the heading change so was VERY confused! Now I think I have it straight. I tried to follow the link to inside the link to get specific fruit and vegetable info, but it's impossible to use (at least from my Mac). I'll just not spend $10 on organic cherries and risk having to discard them. I'll put some raisins and dried apples in his pack. I realized I'll want to go to the grocery anyway before we leave so I can get some Sultanas and Ketchup flavored potato chips to bring back for my friends!

Done that why have this forum if no one corresponds with us is the real question just to vent?

If you post something here, you invite comments from other readers. It can be more powerful than sending a single email directly to GardenWeb. If you can get support for a suggestion here, then you can refer to the post when you send your email.

Of course, venting is good too! lol

iVillage doesn't care,they are just running gardenweb in to the ground. The only time I've ever seen them act is when I put spam links in this forum or once when I called a dangerous cult dangerous and disingenuous, and talked about how they threatened to sue me. One of the cult members got in an argument with me about it and after I handily beat her she had my comments removed.

You have my sympathies! I remember the famous GW/iVillage meltdown a few years back when people were locked out and had to re-register and nobody got answers. I mostly hang out at Dave's Garden since then. The level of contentment is SO much better there!

Back before GW was taken over by iVillage, I was a regular visitor on the African Violet Forum. I noticed that a number of new forums had their own galleries, yet the popular AV Forum didn't have one. I posted a "Petition for a Gallery!" message there, and somebody answered that I should check the Suggestions Forum, since someone had posted a message about adding a gallery to the AV Forum. That message had been ignored until I found it and directed other AV Forum fans to it. Within a week or two the AV Forum had a gallery.

I will likely soon try to get a gallery added to the Amaryllis Forum. I have no idea if the new powers-that-be will respond as quickly as the old ones did a few years ago, or if they'll even respond at all, but I think it's worth a shot.
